How much does it cost?

ANSWER: about $30 a month, average.  The cost could be even less if you have your auto insurance with the same insurance company.

Here is a sample quote, from a State Farm office in Milan.  This quote is for someone living in the City of Milan in an apartment with 6 units.  

The cost:  $209 per year.  That is equal to $17.42 per month.

This example assumes the person wants $35,000 worth of coverage and a $250 deductible.  If the apartment building burns down, or has a broken water line destroying your furniture, clothing, and other belongings, this type of insurance would come in handy.

For $50,000 worth of coverage, the cost is just $249 per year, or $20.75 per month.  There is a discount if you have your car insured with the same agent.
